Soutouboua, Togo April 1971
(with students & neighbors)
These young people were not students, except for Kossie, the
smallest of us. Kossi was basically my ward during the two years I
taught at the Lycee Secondaire de Sotouboua.
John R lived close by Sotouboua, also as a volunteer. We often drank the
local sorghum beer,
tchoukoutou. On a five-day week, each day
was a different brewer, and my favorite lived in the compound right
behind my house. The woman between me and John made my lunches each
school day, and the woman at right lived in the compound behind my
house.

I cannot remember their names.
