At Twin Cities Friends Meeting (Quakers) we have a tradition of presenting and reflecting on our individual spiritual journeys. On March 16, 2014 I presented mine which ranged over my life span (!).

Steve Staruch of MPRMinnesota Public Radio's Music with Minnesotans

Steve Staruch hosts "Music with Minnesotans" on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. On January 28, 2014 he interviewed me with a playlist of my significant (classical) selections, complete with backstories. While I thought my knowledge of classical music is primitive, he valued my emotional component.

Documentary "Who Built Our Capitol?"

"Who Built Our Capitol?" Documentary

On January 15, 2014 the premier of the documentary "Who Built Our Capitol?" was shown at the C.S.P.S. Hall.

Jan Rochač was known to carve (wood) in the governor's office, and his son John Rochač/Rockart became Architect Cass Gilbert's associate/partner. Rockart finished the United States Supreme Court Building upon Gilbert's death.

On June 24, 2011 my residential Gardens on Goodrich were featured on Channel 11 KARE News at 5 and 6 p.m. Belinda Jensen interviewed me and Steve about the gardens, as well as the local community and its history.

Back when I first bought the house in 1978 the property offered great promise, situated on a point on the bluff. Now only the giant hackberry tree stands from that time, now joined by innumerable plantings and hardscape.

Over time the gardens have taken on a life of their own. One friend said that my plants don't bother to put down their roots since they know they'll just be moved anyway. ;-{)

    features Czech and Slovak Sokol Minnesota in the West End. Bill Hudson interviews President Joe Landsberger and Sokol's Senior Singers, as well as tours of the CSPS Hall for a historic perspective on the occasion of its 125th anniversary in the West 7th area.

In 2003 I researched, authored and compiled this book celebrating the contributions of Czech and Slovak immigrants and families in the West End of St. Paul since the 1860s. It was published as a fund raiser for the North High Bridge Park, and includes

  • A timeline of Czech-Slovak immigration into America since 1633
  • Histories of immigrant families in St. Paul, Minnesota since 1860
  • The three churches of St. Stanislaus Kostka since 1872
  • Cyril Congregational Church since 1887
  • The SOKOL/C.S.P.S. Hall since 1887
  • 50 historic photographs
  • Profiles including the composer Antonín Dvořák and actress Blanche Yurka

 Researched and authored 250+ guides of learning strategies in English for the learner-centric educational public service, from 1995 – December 2012. Highly ranked with search engines (Google 7/10), Portals (Merlot), Directories (Open Directory Project), as well as numerous citations and publications @ccess magazine, the Scout Report, and Family Fun Magazine. USAToday’s featured site August 7-13, 2001 and February 2004 as “Best Bet for Educators” Applied translations in thirty nine languages in conjunction with a consortium of volunteers, grants, and educational institutions. Traffic = 12 million visitors in 2012 in 39 languages. At the end of the Year 2012 I sold the resource out of concern for "legacy", the lack of an educational community as partnership (long story), and my inability to keep up with technological advancements.
